ABOUT ABOUT

A graduate brother from the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Cincinnati had a daughter who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Approximately 30,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis at any given time, which makes it the most common fatal disease in the country. Cystic fibrosis causes the body to produce a sticky thick mucus which can lead to clogging the lungs and eventual lung failure. The mucus can also block the pancreas, preventing digestive enzymes from reaching the intestine to digest food. We have an annual 5k every year on campus in order to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis. All of the proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research.
